Hello from the great white north

Not as far north as Noryar , but its sure cold enough . Hate to be cold so you will find me often overriding the thermostat to get a bit more warmth. And oh, how good it feels to crawl under flannelette sheets when you are cold. Stay warm and think warm thoughts .

In September I lost power for 53 hours and it was cool enough even then that I spent most of those 53 hours in bed trying to stay warm . Didn't lose anything in the fridge or freezer because everything was cold enough . That was a nice benefit, I guess . 6 tornados went through here one twice on a Friday about supper time  and did major damage to a tower . That was a long weekend but not for the usual reasons .

At -36ºF we were the coldest capital in the world yesterday . Just 9 brave souls made it out to church yesterday . Doug was doing my snow when I came downstairs so I did make it . Was not a great drive for sure and was so happy to get home again. Even though few in number we had a good service .

We had snow 27 out of the 31 days in January . Snowiest January on record . Over 100 cm ( over 40 inches .) It has warmed up a bit though to 16ºF with a wind chill of 11º.

We had 5 more inches snow today . Made everything white again .

We have had 148 days with at least 1 cm snow on the ground since Novenber 13 . Seems to be the winter that just won’t end .
