It was originally scheduled for Sept 29th and the second in October . Jan 29th I got a call wanting to know whether I`d like Feb 12th and March 9th . I jumped at the chance as my one eye was nearly blind with the cataract and I had quit going to my weekly TOPS meetings as they were evening meetings and night driving 15 miles had become terrifying. The only problem was the fall appts were covered by a friend from church but , although she is a retired CPA she works for clients at tax season. That meant scrounging for rides for 2 appts before surgery and the 2 days of surgery and the day after appts . Managed to get someone for each and only my pastor was called on twice for the day after surgery appts .
The week after the 2nd surgery appt I found out at my ophthalmologist's office that all elective surgeries were cancelled for the next 2 weeks . I just made it getting mine done .
The result has been fantastic . Vision is sharp and colours vibrant .I really hadn't realized just how bad things were .
I feel sorry for those who got their surgeries cancelled as the wait list is a year and even the cancellation list long. I think they should start with the canceled ones and push all backwards to be fair however I`m not in charge of that .
All I can do is be ever so thankful to God ,that I was able to get both surgeries done just before all got cancelled . After the first one I discovered just how bad the vision in what I called my "good" actually was .
God is good and just wanted to share my praises .
