Just trying out posting w/o a quote.
Told it a birth year that'll make me "29" again this Saturday. Was surprised they asked for year, so decided to do that. (but really, I'm a boomer). Usually just want month/day, like the old NN did. 😊
[Wonder if one can EDIT here. (& we got our answer/found the edit button.) 😊 ETA: Back to recalling some html, looks like, such as that {{BR}} we see in brackets. 😊

This forum seems to be pretty simple to use and easy to maintain. I would love to hear some suggestions on how to make this useful for the NazNet Family. Some of my thoughts: - I would like to see very little moderation. We all should be able to be Christlike in our conversations, even when we disagree.
- I am looking for volunteers for admin roles. I don't want to be the only one.
- Would like to leave it as an open forum, with only members able to post.
- The ProBoards forum will include advertisements. If the forum takes off, we have the option to pay to remove them. We'll see how that goes.
- Let me know what forums you would like to see. (Politics anyone???)

The bottom of this page has a "Quick Reply" box that apparently lets guests / non-members post? Just testing it out...

The first post at the top has a bright blue text and a blue background. It is kind of hard to read.

Ooohh! Aahhh! Lucas figured out how to be a real person! Me's got mad skills. The "like" here = "funny" button (missing here for now). BUT we've hope one may appear, since the lines/color change already add clarity, both re reading & whose posts are whose. 😊 BTW, Lucas, wouldn't your "WORD" post be re my mention of html. Seems you jogged my memory thereby. ETA: HEY, quote inside of quote, above = cool! 😊 ETA: Nope, not all "Word" symbols. Definitely some html needed if not on Desktio. 😊

I signed up, too. Hope it takes off . Marg Marg, if you want to change your name (I did after seeing some others did & how you can now have a space), at the top under "Profile" there's an "edit." It was under "display name" that the change was made. Was even simple to add the picture under "Avatar" tab! 😊

To all the early adopters: Thank you. I like what I see so far. A couple of things I would like to see on everyone's profile: - Please use your full name as your Display Name.
- Provide your "Church of the Nazarene Connection".
These can be updated by selecting Profile, Edit Profile, and Personal. The first field is "Display Name" and the last field is "Church of the Nazarene Connection" You may also want to click on the "Privacy" tab. You can change what information you would like others to see. (Birthday, Email, etc.)

I didn't frequent the old NazNet as much in recent years as I used to, but thought I would check this out. Looks like it has potential for those who prefer the forum format over Facebook. In some ways, Facebook reminds me of the old Caleidh software where posts dropped off the board after a week. Facebook does have a search feature, but it's a little wonky sometimes. This has a little more of the feel of vBulletin. This is really just a test post!

Well, it was worth a try. I posted a link to this site on the NazNet facebook page and it was quickly deleted. I guess they see this as competition. I hope NazNet isn't copyrighted...

KEVIN, tho't I'd test message area, since I tho't it previously mentioned wanting "Username" which varies from "Display name" sometimes. Could we tell it to use "Display name" instead, or somehow change folks' "display name" to also be the "user name" When I tested, it said such a person/user did not exist, tho' they do. Nevertheless post appearance compared to the start-up is much clearer re what post belongs to whom, reading ability etc. 😊 As far as I can tell it will always use display name if one was entered. I would like to see if I can make display name mandatory. Until then, we can just ask people to update their display name.
