Now, let's get back to finding ways to feed hungry children. Cussing......at them? Sorry! Couldn't help myself! I'm just happy I have a place to be facetious Back to our regularly scheduled Naznet

I guess we disagree. Did his cussing result in fewer starving children? I doubt it, but it's OK to disagree. I think so. It opens eyes to what is irrelevant but we care about, and what is important and we don't give a **** about. But, if you are of the opinion that people still won't see it, I guess we agree after all. But I appreciate the attempt by Tony to reveal the hypocrisy.

Yeah, it's fine to disagree (& I don't like what's considered swearing, either). But as for the question, & the presumed answer ("I doubt it"), it's really too bad we can't check with whomever all heard Tony do this to learn whether there may have indeed been some(one?) who were/was jolted into realizing the point he was making ~~ as they gasped at his "shocking" word(s) ~~ and the state of their priorities, and did begin to do something about it. If only one, well . . . . Just curious . . . but then I tend towards curiosity, anyway. ☺ This popped up on my feed today: View AttachmentYes, 99% of the time this does apply. ETA: Tho't the picture of the little one saying, "Shhhh!" would appear here. Without it, it looks like my post's about the Facebook post just above this one. 😉

Hope that link works, Lucas. I was trying to watch it when first up this morning when I found it on Facebook. But when there was about 4 minutes left, it suddenly quit. Ate, & then when I went to find it again, I couldn't find it anywhere. I even went to your page, and was like, "Where'd that thing go!?" & wondered if you'd second-guessed yourself & taken it down. Sounds like you didn't, unless you had it off for, awhile to edit(??). ETA: OK, what's going on? It worked this morning, but am getting that "Invalid Source" thing tonight, so can't hear the last several minutes (like what happens most videos at FB these days). Is it posted elsewhere at all?? Haha, nope. It's still up, and I still haven't received any negative pushback. And it is showing over 1000 views, though I'm not sure how facebook counts views. I'm cracking up how your church is named bitterrroot and you've had a bitter experience. You can't make that up. Sounds biblical or something. Regardless, I've been in similar shoes. What I've learned is, God always takes care of us. It's amazing. While I fear about tomorrow, my fears about tomorrow never become the reality of today. God is always at work in ways you would never expect. While you are staying close to him thinking you are going nowhere, he is busy bringing something amazing to you. Just wait with him and you'll soon have a cool story to tell about how good and faithful he is.

We just put up some new banners in front of our church. We are having a ton of our neighbors taking selfies with them. I had no idea they would be as popular as they have been. We must be doing something right!

Good replacements, as I don't like the original, either ~~ know someone who tends to like the original verbiage.)

Haha, nope. It's still up, and I still haven't received any negative pushback. And it is showing over 1000 views, though I'm not sure how facebook counts views. I'm cracking up how your church is named bitterrroot . . . Haha, yeah, you're not the first to comment on the name. I guess it was originally called "Victor COTN" when it was planted back in the 1950s. Victor is the actual town the church is in. In the early 1990s, it was changed to "Bitterroot COTN". "The Bitterroot" is colloquial in western Montana for the Bitterroot Valley. Everyone here knows what is meant when someone says "the Bitterroot" (or sometimes just "the 'root"). The valley is named after the mountain range that forms the western wall of the valley (the Sapphire Mountains form the eastern wall) as well as the border with Idaho. Also, the river that runs through it is the Bitterroot River. (See what I did there? The movie, A River Runs Through It, is based in nearby Missoula, where the Blackfoot (the primary river in the movie), Clark Fork, and Bitterroot Rivers all come together.) Both the mountain range and the river are named for the state flower of Montana, the bitterroot. Not too long after I moved up (in 2011, I think), we officially changed the church name from just "Bitterroot COTN" to "Bitterroot Valley COTN". Though the locals know what "Bitterroot" refers to, the name change has helped head off conversations regarding a "root of bitterness" with non-locals. (Though certainly we are not immune from bitterness as various circumstances, coughgettingaskedtoleavecough, arise.) The Bitterroot Valley is actually the location of the first permanent white settlement in Montana. Whites had been coming through Montana for decades, and I suppose they had likely set up temporary settlements, but nothing permanent. The Bitterroot Valley is the ancestral winter home for the Salish Tribe (though they have since been relocated to the Flathead Reservation north of Missoula). The Salish learned about Christianity from Iroquois who were involved in the fur trade, and they sent periodic messages back east asking for people to be sent to tell them more. Finally, in the 1840's, Jesuit missionaries came and established what is now known as Stevensville, which is about eight miles north of where I live in Victor. This was the first permanent white settlement in what is now Montana.

Ahhh, a movie I have actually seen mentioned here. 😊 Not too many of those, though I had wanted to keep that forum for suggestions later. Yes, we saw A River Runs Through It years ago w/Danny, I think.
Good, BTW, that you did bother to learn the history of the area . . . definitely is an odd/unusual name, tho'.

So Kevin, if you want us to avoid cussing, how do you feel about us giving someone the bird in our profile pictures? (Asking for a friend.)

Originally I joined the Naznet facebook group, along with the Naznet Pastors and Naznet Theology groups. Then, in an effort to remove stress from my life, I left all but the Theology group, which I only check once or twice a week at most. Anyway, just now, I noticed a couple of people who had gone grey, meaning they are no longer a member of the group. Does anyone know if the people were removed by the administrators or left on their own? Based on the particular thread and comments, it seems like they could have been removed. I'm getting the impression that they are running a pretty tight ship on the Naznet facebook groups.

When he told me this, it was confirmation that the NN I knew was no more so I chose to leave. We went from the .com where moderation was very lax, even when it came to sharing info from the site with DS's in attempts to get in trouble and even questioning peoples Christianity to tightening it way up.....but apparently just against gifs and asking questions. RIP, Naznet. You had a good run. naznet.net fo life, I suppose

It should have been me to get booted first, not Brent. I've been contemplating leaving. It wouldn't take me much more to do so. It's funny to hear Scott and Dave try to positively spin the Facebook groups. They aren't even a shadow of what the DOTCOM was. But if that's what they were hoping for, more power to them! Seriously!?!? Opinions regarding silly little pictures called gifs, and it was squashed?? Was someone getting snarky, or using profanity, or is it really just that tight there!? If so, my goodness!
Truthfully, when I post, not even sure sometimes, unless I look closely, which forum I'm in. Click on next notification up (just like I did in the "What's New?" at the dotcom), & then may notice I'm in the NazToo forum. Go by context, I guess . . . rather like forgetting a movie's title, while recalling the, storyline ~~ something I've often been prone to do. 😏

Not sure what to do about here. But I've checked it several times and seen nothing, also. 😢
Anyway, since I posted about the gif thing, I see it has since been corrected.

I appreciate the attempt to recreate the DOTCOM here, but if I recall correctly, I anticipated that a change like this wouldn't be very effective. I still hope to be proven wrong, though.
For myself, I've never been much of a thread starter. I've always been more of a reactor. And my mind has been focused on other things lately. When I begin to establish a new normal, I imagine that I will post more. If there's anything to post about.
