Hi....kinda dead around here Yeah, unfortunately. It takes all of us to make of this what we want and need, but only a few are contributing. I think for me my days of a central Nazarene online location are coming to an end [other than Nazarene Pastors think tank and SacNaz] because of lack of participation in the good places and too many craziness in the other threads.

Yep. who knows what the reason or the list of reasons are why we will probably never have another naznet.com. But to be honest, it was dying in its own slow way. regardless, I loved it when it was great. I do regret that this site didn't bring everyone back together. Oh well. We tried.

I check in every few days, but since it's so dead there is really never anything to say... I think it's like a downward spiral... Like the mainline churches: No one goes, so when people come they don't stick around... So it gets even smaller... Etc

I check in everyday... hoping. But then a little nibble comes along like this thread and I am happy for a few moments

I think that between NazToo and the NN FB pages, many from the .com found groups that were more like minded. The .com was always a mix which was good but it seemed that the more and more polarizing it got, the more likely that people would find groups of more like minded people.

You get kinda tired at some point arguing the same thing over and over again. There is a limit to sanity. It got to a point that with any given subject, you could basically write down the first 20 answers by various people before you read it. Everything became predictable. But the real issue was the imbalanced moderation. Even several moderators quit for that very reason.

So, I see that Hans is a deleted member. Wonder what caused that? But then I doubt that I really want to know.

Yeah, sure does take more than one. I'm not sure what to talk about at the moment. One thing I guess I do have to go correct over at Facebook is when I said I haven't done anything with anyone since Danny's been gone. Then I realized a couple days later I'd forgotten someone visiting here and our going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I guess I forgot for awhile because there was really not a connection made, other than a platonic friendship. Then I remembered too that we went to lunch w/a couple of folks, the Evanses.

I would love to see TSO in person, but I am sure that the light show would just be a migraine waiting to happen so I won't be going.

It was the volume that was hard on me. I found myself reaching for my ears, without even thinking, through a lot of it. 🙃🙃
On the other hand, I liked the light show added to the songs I'd only been hearing on radio or CD.

Oooh! Loud music and bright light show? Sounds fun! You have heard TSO, right?? 😊🙃😊 Come to think of it, I might really love them even better with some ear muffs. I could see the lights and not hear quite so much of the blaring volume. 😉

Well, I guess I'd almost have to call it hurtfully loud. Maybe because I've lived with a lot of noise for years now, my ears have gotten more sensitive. But, anyway, I did love the looks of it!!
Bet you can find them over on YouTube to see a bit of their accompanying light show.

Once I was at Disneyland right by the speaker during one of their major shows. Now, the speakers are desgined to transmit the music all over the park, so it was super loud. I remember it hurt my ears at first, but as I got into the show I was as able to sort of ignore that aspect.... Except during sudden booms or if there are as a lul then it got strong again then it would nock me out of the moment and back into "ow, that's right, it's too loud" again. That is, I assume, what it would be like.

I am not Nazarene, although I was for years. My parents were both Nazarene elders. I have absolutely nothing against the church, I simply decided that for me it wasn't a good fit. I hope this doesn't prevent my participation on this forum. I participated on Naznet for years and also participate on I'm Nazarene Too.

It seems everyone wanted to stay in Facebook land. I miss the old Naznet format. You are responding to an old thread. You can create a new thread if you want to start a new topic. I don't think you'll get much interaction but it may be worth a try.
