The CotN has a newish USA/Canada leader for evangelism and new church development. He spent last weekend at the church I attend and we were blessed by his presentation. Christians talking to others about Jesus is kind of required, and he drives that point home. Here is last Sunday's message. mcnazarene.com/sermon-overview/whos-distributing-seed/He also contributed a chapter for the book A Holy Purpose which some of you Nazarene Bible College types have probably read. Here is a few year old video of his, .

I had some classes from NBC but never took a class with his book in it. Hopefully, he'll be a blessing to our region.

Our new DS just announced he hired Josh Broward to be Director of Missional Development for our district. Sounds like the same thing Mark Bane is doing on a national level.
As Director of Missional Development, Pastor Josh will help train, resource, and empower churches on the Northern California District to enhance their missional impact through (1) cultivating missional discipleship, (2) planting churches and missional communities, and (3) recruiting missionally innovative pastors, lay leaders, and interns.

Greg,
I wonder if there couldn't be a creative financing of this kind of position. Would a part-time pastor for one of the local churches be capable in a small district (like upstate)? eg a strategic hire - district pays half, local church pays half but the hire is actually capable of your points 1,2,3.

I know that most pastors would do anything the DS asks them to do.
