Hello all ~ I just ordered new instrumental music for my group at church [two violins, myself on flute, cello and French Horn]. And as someone one Facebook mentioned, it is October 1st which means Thanksgiving is almost here which means Christmas is just around the corner. Thus, in an effort to build up DOT NET [you know...vs. DOT COM], I will throw out what might be an old question - what are some of your favorite Advent hymns? My top five are: O Come, O Come Emmanuel [who doesn't?] Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus Rejoice, Rejoice Believers [Laurenti] Once He Came in Blessing [Jan Roh] Prepare Your Hearts [Johann Peter] The last three are Moravian Advent Hymns. My favorite contemporary song that would be appropriate for Advent would be Hope of Israel by Michael W. Smith

This one is not Advent, but is still a favorite for Christmas
