I was doing a simple "Naznet" Google search to see if NazNet.net is showing up in a search, when I came across something I found pretty disturbing. I was not around NazNet back then, and I really don't know what the mood was like then. I have read some of the criticisms from Manny and Tim, but I had never read anything like this, or ever heard of this guy: www.renewamerica.com/columns/swank/100418I have to wonder if things that were being discussed were really this explosive, if opinions stated by some were being attributed to everyone that was on NazNet. That is a danger of different groups or sites like this. We can not let just a few determine the reputation of the entire NazNet. Everyone needs to be individually accountable for there own words. I want to see the new NazNet.net address tough issues and discuss our differences. However, I do not want to see the Nazarene Family get to this point again. We are a diverse group of people spread across the world. We all have ideas of how we think things are or how they should be. We should be able to have discussions under the fellowship of Christian love with an emphasis on Holiness. Maybe some of the long-time NazNetters can shed a little light on this subject. Was the author just being overly critical? Was he actually involved in NazNet discussions? Let's rise above, if not for any other reason than, we are Nazarene, and we need to represent Christ.

Grant Swank was not a part of our discussions, as far as I remember. I'm not sure he'd be willing to talk in a civil manner, considering his nasty comments about Scott Cundiff, Dave McClung and Hans Deventer.

I was on Naznet at the time. Manny et al are horrible people. If anyone like that appears again please prohibit their participation.

Grant Swank has never been part of NazNet, but for a while he made it his life's mission to post anywhere he possibly could about NazNet and specifically Dave, Scott and me in as negatiive a way as possible. He did so because posting at as many different sites as possible puts you high in the search machines. And it still works, apparently. In my view, folks like Manny and him who appear to have nothing better to do with their lives but destroy, are not mentally able to be part of a forum like this in a constructive way. I'm not sure I can actually blame them, I tend to think they suffer from some kind of mental disorder.

He also attacked Barbara and I think was the tipping point for her leaving .com for so long.

My claim to fame is that I was the interim pastor just before he arrived in Windham Maine. That was in the early 90's. That was quite an experience, regardless, I did not have any negative experiences with him. Soon after that he spent an entire Saturday walking me through Revelation and helping me understand a typical American narrative of it. He was very well educated. He brought a good group from his church to support me when I planted our church and had our first service. I do remember him writing dumb things about naznet.com years later but that wasn't the Grant Swank I knew. I am sure that he is suffering from some type of mental illness. I've been a victim of the hatred of the mentally ill so I am very sorry for all who have suffered from his words. I just want to say for what it's worth, he wasn't always like that.

I thought that Manny Silva and his team of Concerned Nazarene Hackers was behind the crash.

I thought that Manny Silva and his team of Concerned Nazarene Hackers was behind the crash. They enjoyed it but no, were not the cause of the crash.
